The Brief
Appointed as a land strategist to support the Council in engaging with the landowners and exploring development possibilities for the Burns Road Industrial Estate.
The Challenges
Engaging with the landowners, informing and educating them about the issues affecting the estate.
Facilitating discussions to establish a formal landowner’s group.
Establishing and formalising an Incorporated landowners’ group.
Biodiversity assessment.
Targeted surveys.
Proactively exploring and pursuing future development options.
Providing recommendations to assist in the progression of a framework for future development options.
Providing a reverse brief and budget for a Development Plan process.
The Outcomes
The Burns Road Landowners Group was officially formalised as an Incorporated Association with a membership of approximately fifty (50) percent of the landowner base. Both a biodiversity assessment and targeted surveys were completed providing a pathway to achieving Council endorsement and the securing of funds to undertake a recommended Development Plan process for the Estate.
